The recruitment process for the Civil Judge Cadre consists of the following stages:

1Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is an objective-type test, with weightage distributed as follows:

70% weightage – Subjects prescribed in the syllabus for Law Paper-I and Law Paper-II.

30% weightage – Proficiency in Hindi and English language.

2Syllabus for Preliminary Examination Law

Same as Law Paper I & II for the Main Examination.

3Hindi Proficiency

शब्द रचना – संधि विच्छेद, समास, उपसर्ग-प्रत्यय।
शब्द ज्ञान – अर्द्धतत्सम, तद्भव, देशज, विदेशी शब्द।
व्याकरण – संज्ञा, अव्यय (क्रिया विशेषण, सम्बन्ध सूचक), विलोम शब्द, समानार्थी शब्द, उपयुक्त शब्दावली।
शब्द शक्ति – विभिन्न शब्दों का विवेक और प्रयोग।
